Blue Ridge Resource Conservation & Development
Blue Ridge Resource Conservation and Development Council is an independent, nonprofit, nonpartisan, incorporated entity having as its primary concern the acceleration of the conservation, development and proper use of the resources within the Blue Ridge Resource Conservation and Development Council. Inc. area. This area includes Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Mitchell, Watauga, Wilkes and Yancey Counties in North Carolina. It is an organization and program that seeks to encourage wise use of our natural and human resources as well as economic development that is balanced with the natural environment.
Blue Ridge RC&D Council sponsors are the County Commissioners and Soil & Water Conservation Districts in the seven county area. The council is comprised of local citizens appointed by these sponsors.

The Blue Ridge RC&D Council is a 501(c) 3 non-profit, action-oriented organization which has, over the past 30+ years, provided local project sponsors and partners direct grant acquisition and project assistance in generating millions of dollars in funding to implement these projects.

Blue Ridge RC&D Vision and Mission Statement
VISION: The Blue Ridge Resource Conservation and Development Council envisions better schools, better hospitals, more environmentally neutral industries, and a more environmental sensitive use of the areas resources within the seven county area..
MISSION: To make the Blue Ridge Resource Conservation and Development a vehicle to coordinate a multicounty effort to improve the natural and human resources to make the Seven County Area a better place to live, work, and play
